I placed a pre-order for ACU...
Everyone enjoys the show, which is why we're so let down by this unplayable mess.
they addressed the issues with watchdogs and confirmed they can run at 70+ fps without stuttering or frame drops, even at high speeds. all graphics were pushed to their limits except AA second from highest and ambient occlusion on SSO. i get why ubisoft is upset, but don’t act out of frustration just because you dislike them. they might take a while, but eventually they’ll improve acu. or maybe it’ll be quick due to the negative press they’re facing for their poor quality. even their stock has dropped.
I also like it, but I haven't played ACU for more than five minutes because the power went out at my place and I don't want to run my PC on unstable generator power. FC2 has some issues where it can freeze at certain points and stop progressing, which is what happened to me too. Ubisoft hasn't addressed those problems.
You can always buy it later once they improve it enough to be worth it. In my view, Assassin's Creed has been drifting toward mediocrity for a while. Black Flag seemed to offer a bit of change, but even then it had the same predictable combat and no real originality. Even with Unity, I’d still be completely disinterested. There’s also the issue of English accents in a story set during the French Revolution… Far Cry is fine now, but I’m starting to notice it’s becoming too repetitive. Far Cry 3 feels eerily similar to Far Cry 2.
Cancel your initial order and avoid pre-orders altogether. Don’t risk your money before experiencing the product firsthand. Games aren’t crafted in small batches. Just wait a few weeks after a release to check for updates and improvements. The pre-order approach feels strange. It’s giving away digital items without any prior purchase. No other sector does this. Picture this: “Check out these trainers (sneakers) featured in a flashy video highlighting just the main features. They’re going to be amazing. You should pre-order them. Doing so also includes a set of extra yellow laces! Act now!” Then the trainers arrive, made from tissue paper insoles. And you rarely actually use those extra laces since they don’t offer much beyond standard ones. lol
