The site claims 10700f is the most powerful chip it supports. Yet the 10900f also delivers 65w. Paying an extra $70 for an i9 isn’t a big deal. My goal is livestreaming, so I need the top performance possible. I don’t want to buy a chip only to find it doesn’t fit. It’s a 400-series processor like the board, same generation. In theory, it should work. Anyone have any advice? I’m glad you took the time to read my post and help others. I haven’t found much online about this. It seems like a rare issue. My current setup includes an i5 10400F with 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe drive, and a GTX 1650 graphics card. I plan to upgrade both the GPU and power supply. I’m deciding between the 6600 XT and the 3060. The 6600 XT is faster but has a slower encoder. Since streaming is my priority, it’s hard to decide. The 3060 costs more but should handle streaming better based on what I’ve read. I’m using Streamyard for chat and learning OBS for game streaming. Any insights or opinions would be valuable.
Stream directly through the NVENC encoder with the 3060, and your CPU load would drop significantly—potentially eliminating the need for an upgrade.
That sounds like a solid plan. It should help you save a lot of money. 3060 seems reasonable for performance. Thanks for the feedback!
