I searched online for solutions but found nothing similar. I’ve written my own update because others haven’t had this issue before. About five days ago, I installed a PC that functioned just fine for roughly five minutes. Then I adjusted the BIOS settings for fan control and increased the RAM to its advertised speed. I used a DDR5 Corsair 6000mhz RAM and it was running at 4800 MHz. After exiting the BIOS, the computer didn’t start properly—all fans were active but the CPU and DRAM indicators stayed on. My system specs include a Ryzen 9 7900X3D, MSI Rtx 4060ti, 8GB/32GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance 6000mhz, CL36 motherboard, and Gigabyte power supply. I’ve reset the CMOS by removing the battery for hours, shorted the pins, tried a new RAM stick, re-seated the CPU, and flashed the BIOS. The motherboard LEDs still show CPU and DRAM status. I’m unsure what to do next—any suggestions would be helpful?
Did you adjust only the frequency settings or did you activate XMP/EXPO? If the latter was enabled, that’s why it failed to start. When you changed the frequency, was the power supply connected? Certain Gigabyte boards have BIOS updates that disable CMOS clearing when a 5VSB PSU is installed; you must turn off or unplug the PSU, wait a moment for residual power, then clear the CMOS.

Consider revisiting the same steps you used earlier, perhaps trying a BIOS flashback to an older version. It’s possible the newest MSI BIOS you’re using has bugs or compatibility problems with your memory module, while an older BIOS could function properly—after all, it’s not uncommon for hardware to fail after updates. If I were facing the same situation, I’d likely just discard this board and opt for a completely different one.
