If the PSU delivers more than its rated capacity while a fan is blocked, it might have harmed the electrolytics and shortened their lifespan. These components are typically rated for 85°C or 105°C. For every 10°C drop below these limits, the expected life of the capacitors doubles. Running an 85°C capacitor at 75°C can effectively double its lifespan. At 65°C it becomes four times longer, and at 55°C even eight times. Keeping the caps cooler is beneficial. 105°C capacitors are usually in premium PSUs, while 85°C ones are common in budget models.

Thank you for the responses and details, for the time being I plan to initiate the return process but also request a replacement PSU and CPU.
