I noticed a drop in frame rate.
At the start of the week I noticed reduced frame rates. Despite upgrading my PC twice, the performance dropped significantly—from 50-90 FPS to just 10-30. The CPU and GPU temperatures remain normal, but the issue impacts all games including CS:GO, Valorant, Minecraft and Overwatch. Specifics: CPU - AMD Athlon 300u / GPU (integrated) - Vega3 / RAM - 2x4GB 2400.
Did you ensure the PC's cooling system was functioning? Were you careless with the machine or accidentally knock it over? If performance dropped significantly, it might mean drivers weren't fully installed. Installing chipset drivers is crucial because they unlock high-speed modes for storage devices like hard drives, SSDs, and USB. Based on the listed specifications, this laptop is already quite limited. It's entirely plausible that a recent Windows update caused the slowdown. I’d recommend giving it a good clean of the fans first.
Did you notice any issues with the hardware or connections in your setup? I experienced a similar problem once—a broken plastic piece was lodged in a fan blade, yet the fans continued to operate. Always inspect these parts carefully before you begin using your PC. Because you prepared your systems, there’s a chance you might have overlooked updating certain drivers. Make sure to check those as well and keep everything up to date for optimal performance. Interestingly, a blocked fan was the root cause of my concern!
