I don't need to purchase a new motherboard or OS for your MSI H170. Anyone have suggestions on how to proceed? I've already tried the MSI Command Center, which indicates that your motherboard doesn't support CPU overclocking.

It is accurate that your motherboard and CPU do not support overclocking. Overclocking isn't possible with these components. The exception would be if you used a Z170 motherboard paired with a BIOS version that permits non-K overclocking.

If you don't Have a K series CPU (6500K) and a Z170 Mobo. There is no point to try.
