I just fixed my brother's old laptop—a HP DV6 with an i7 1.3 and 4 GB RAM, probably. He gifted it to me as a gift. I don’t own a laptop myself, so I’m thinking of using it as a secondary computer. The main issue is figuring out what functions or software it should support now that it’s running Windows 10. I’d like some ideas on how to use it and what programs I should install to make it useful.

Consider adding Windows Server or Linux to enhance functionality, then transform it into a dedicated server setup.

Most folks set up a single game and switch to a web browser for the second monitor.

However, navigating the web can feel monotonous; I’d prefer to engage in something more unique and suited for a laptop.
