I have been having some strange computer problems for a few days now. It looks like the machine stopped working all of a sudden because it was working perfectly yesterday. The issue started when I could not even get any POST message, and there was no signal to my hard drives or mice. After reseating everything, resetting the CMOS memory, and flashing a BIOS update with no success, I managed to get the computer to turn on for a few minutes. However, it still takes a long time to boot up, and in the meantime, my Q-LED light is showing different messages over and over again: first an error about DRAM for 40 seconds, then jumping back to the CPU for one second, moving to VGA, and finally reaching "Boot". This cycle happened twice before I finally got it working normally. But once I logged into Windows, the screen froze and crashed after a few minutes. The same thing happens in BIOS when I try to adjust some voltages; it takes a while there too before freezing up and crashing. So far, I think the problem is either with the CPU or the motherboard. I would really appreciate your second opinion just in case. Right now, I heard this strange light crackling noise coming from near the CPU that I have never heard before. It feels like something is wrong, but I don't know what to do yet because the machine is too critical for me to continue working without it. Please help me out of this mess; I am completely stuck and cannot finish my work anymore. My PC setup is: ASUS ROG Strix B650-a Gaming WiFi AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, Kingston Fury Beast 64GB RAM, Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD, NZXT Kraken 360 Elite fans, Gigabyte Eagle Z790 motherboard, RTX 3060 oc 12GD graphics card, Corsair RM850X case.

Hi there! What BIOS version do you have installed on your ASUS ROG Strix B650-a? How many sticks are in your memory stick kit—two 32GB or two 16GBs? Also, what model is that Corsair RM850X power supply? When did you get this power supply? Just now I heard a strange buzzing noise coming from near the CPU. It sounded like a light crackling sound and it's been happening all day. I don't know how to find out where the problem is. You might want to roll up an A4 sheet of paper into a cylinder and hold it against your ear while you listen with another end pointing towards the noise. That way, if that's the source, the sound will be louder. Also, check for any signs of burnt or melted parts on top of everything else, because those things can smell like burning when they're broken.

Thanks! The BIOS is version 3222 and the RAM sticks are a 2x32 kit. The power supply unit is probably around two years old; I've had this machine for less than two years already. I'm going to try finding where that noise came from, but I just want to make sure it won't hurt anything while running like that.

New thing noticed: the monitor connected via HDMI shows white squares before the computer stops working. The graphics card was unplugged from everything else. No burning smell comes off like crazy, but where the noise is coming from still isn't clear for sure. I took out all devices except the SSD, though I guess it's either the pump or the CPU causing trouble. Edit: if the problem is with the pump, my worry goes down. When I checked the CPU earlier to fix things, air got inside so now I'm going to try cleaning it out of there.
