Absolutely, everything is updated quickly. If it's a keylogger, they might be able to steal your passwords.

It's accurate to say that if a keylogger is present on your computer, the person using it can see what you're entering.

To remove a potential keylogger, use trusted security software to scan and eliminate it. Ensure your system is updated and consider disabling unnecessary programs that might be involved.

Occasionally it's challenging since it can appear as genuine software. I once had a keylogger installed on my PC and needed to reinstall Windows. I formatted the SSD and other drives (to ensure no virus was present), but I had my files and documents safely backed up.

If you backup all your files, isn't there a chance you can backup the keylogger?

I maintain multiple backup sites. My setup uses the 3-2-1 rule.

If your password was altered and it wasn't you, how did you regain access? If your password matched the previous one, I'd suspect a mistake from Microsoft sending the email, since they wouldn't change your password without reason and there would be no justification for doing so.

That's a smart move, I'll take the time to review it. Thanks!

When you examined the image I shared earlier, Microsoft informed me my password had been updated and offered the choice "If this wasn't you, your account has been compromised. Please follow these steps." I selected "reset your password." Attempting to log in with my old password failed. From the comments, I noticed a keylogger could capture passwords and alter them. Interestingly, my account had two-step verification, yet no alerts were sent to my phone or alternative email. This situation also occurred with my Ubisoft account, where it incorrectly displayed Egypt as the origin and I received no notification. Regarding why this happened on my Microsoft account, I’m unsure what they might be accessing—especially if it’s linked to the Microsoft Store, could they obtain payment details? The same applies to Ubisoft; it seems they were attempting to capture my card information, though I didn’t have any on either account.
