Hello, I recently purchased a closed loop water cooler, specifically an Arctic freezer 240. Before that, I had a Master Hyper 212 Plus cooler. After installing the new water cooler, temperatures have significantly dropped. However, when I run Prime95 at full load, my CPU temperature reaches 95°C or higher. I’m unsure if this is normal, as I’ve re-seated the CPU, reapplied thermal paste, but the issue persists with unstable and high temps. Anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks.
P.s. My CPU model is Intel 3570K.

Premium liquid coolers are essentially marketing terms for AIO coolers. Most of them match the performance of decent or excellent air coolers. It still feels like an airlock problem might be at play, but there could be other reasons too. Did you follow the steps I suggested for fixing the airlock? If not, it might not matter much anymore.

it seems the pump might not be operating properly.

It seems the pump might not be operating properly. I verified that there were temperature variations after disconnecting the pump, which is notable.

Airlock, perhaps. Those AIO's tend to have this problem because the pumps are very weak and there often is some air in the units.
I would disconnect the radiator and shake it, turn it, etc while the unit is running. Reinstall so the tubing is always down (air rises) since you don't want the pump to pull in an air bubble to airlock.

Thanks for the assistance, but I feel like I might have wasted too much time on this already. I just hope the store I bought it from isn't doing anything wrong. I've already sent an email to their support, and they replied with a very rude message, giving incorrect information and blaming me. I bought it from awd-it.co.uk.

Hi, I've been trying to get the company I bought from to replace it all week, but they keep being rude and blaming me. A word of advice: don't ever buy from awd-it.co.uk. If you run into issues with what you bought, they'll give you wrong help, lie about everything, and blame you. They also suggest risky actions that could harm your computer without taking responsibility. I'm planning to file a dispute on Paypal for a replacement or refund.

They advised me to adjust the bios settings and control the pump speed, along with other tips, but I only needed to remove this pile of trash from my PC because my CPU was overheating at 100°C. They kept blaming me without accepting a return. Additionally, I encountered another issue—I noticed one side of the CPU stays hot while the other remains cool.

It seems your main concern lies with the vcore adjustment, possibly along with a few others. If there was an issue with the cooler, it could also lead to overheating even with standard or default configurations. Could you share the temperatures you observed during this process?

If you intended to use PWM control via a CPU or MB header, their approach might have been reasonable in trying to verify RPM settings. It’s not the most critical fix, but worth checking.

No need for concern, though—this usually points more toward your overclocking parameters than the cooler itself.

Many users get frustrated because they think any BIOS setting can be handled by a cooler, even if it’s not ideal. The actual limits are set by the thermal sensors on the die and how effectively heat moves through the core, IHS, heatsink, and cooling field.
