I recently upgraded my system and can't install or start Windows. Before the upgrade I had a single 2TB NVMe M.2 that served as both boot and main storage. I didn't format it beforehand, assuming it wouldn't cause issues. Now I'm stuck because the M.2 isn't showing up in the USB Windows setup, even though the RAID is recognized. The two SSDs are detected by RAID but nothing appears in NVMe Configuration within BIOS. Specifications include an Asus Rog Strix Z790-A with Intel 14900KF, RTX 4070ti, DDR5 64GB RAM, and two 2TB Predator M.2 NVMe drives.

Are you using a RAID configuration for your M.2 drives? Then install the appropriate RAID driver for your Windows installation media to view the volume.

Typically RST or RAID is sourced straight from the motherboard maker's webpage. I just configured one with SATA SSDs on an i5 12400, using RAID1, where the drives are mirrored.

You might want to keep your NVMe SSDs for performance and consider adding a SATA SSD for the operating system. The site you found only lists SATA models, so you’ll need to follow their instructions carefully to embed the drive during installation. Since you’re new to this process, look for detailed guides that walk you through the steps for including the SATA drive in the media.

You haven't addressed this query yet, as your statement suggests the problem lies in configuring RAID and loading drivers for Windows installation media to recognize the volume. This applies to both AMD and Intel RAID setups.

I tried the boot with and without RAID, but nothing worked. I’m sticking with the RAID setup because it simplified things. Now I have the necessary details to load drivers for the Windows installation media so it can recognize it. I’ll look into that further, but if you know the process, let me know—I’d appreciate your help more than my research pace.

I finished after three hours. I needed the LAN, WIFI, and other drivers from my MOBO manufacturer's site. It turned out the SATA RAID driver also supported NVMe. After installing it, I prepared my Windows Media Installation USB and labeled the folders with all the extracted drivers. When I booted the USB, I installed the drivers in order—first RAID, then LAN/WIFI—and everything was set. Thank you Agail for your assistance!
