Greetings!

I’m from Canada.

As a complete beginner with streaming hardware, please excuse my questions. My past experience includes systems administration and general computer work, dating back to early BASIC programming (though I've admittedly let some of that knowledge lapse!). I can learn quickly if you have concerns.

My current system specifications are:
Intel Core i5-6500 CPU @3.20 GHz. 8 Gigabytes of RAM.
(I recognize this isn’t sufficient for streaming, but I possess adequate bandwidth.)

I suspect I'll need to upgrade both the motherboard and the processor. The motherboard is Intel-based with a 2016 Megatrends BIOS. Hopefully, that information is useful. Please let me know what details you require from me; I’m utilizing cpu-z. (I simply don’t understand how to navigate the various tabs and options – I do know “Mainboard” equates to Motherboard.)

My primary streaming goal is Overwatch; other games include World Of Warcraft, Destiny 2, Bioshock Infinite, Silent Hills: Isolation, Team Fortress 2 (provided there are still servers and players), and Spiral Knights (a Steam title). NO FORTNITE. (I dislike Fortnite!)

What equipment would I need to convince the GeekSquad team at the Eaton Centre Best Buy in Totonro, Canada, to assist me with setting up my computer for comfortable streaming of these games?

I’m planning to purchase everything during Boxing Week – the day after Christmas is known as Boxing Day in some countries and the UK. Therefore, I don't require immediate assistance for approximately three weeks.

My budget is under $1000, ideally, with a maximum of $1000.

Could you offer me assistance?

Connect your motherboard’s (the built-in Intel graphics processor) supplementary port to an unused connector on your display, and install the software drivers; this will happen automatically, though newer versions can be installed if older ones are present.

Subsequently, you can utilize OBS with QSV options for streaming. If you possess an NVIDIA card, you may employ nvenc within OBS, which exclusively leverages the GPU and will not hinder your gaming experience. If you have an AMD graphics card, a tailored version of OBS featuring VCE is available.

I attempted to stream utilizing OBS, but my computer is unable to manage it due to its processor. This is what I understand.

For these configurations, select nvenc if you possess an NVIDIA graphics card; this will enable streaming with exceptional fidelity.

Acknowledged. I understand your explanation clearly.

I currently own a GeForce GTX 1070ti.

I’m anticipating additional memory to be delivered soon.

Thank you!
