I need a Workstation and Gaming PC.
Hello, I was considering constructing a system for hosting multiple VMs and a high-performance PC capable of gaming. I planned to use two RTX 4090 graphics cards and a 1600W Platinum-rated PSU from a trusted manufacturer. The Corsair 1000D Full tower case would be the main focus. The primary aim is to handle demanding tasks such as intensive games, 3D rendering, machine learning, video editing, Adobe software, and especially gaming. I’m unsure which CPU to choose to maximize both work and gaming performance. My overall budget should stay below $7000. Ideally, I’d like a CPU with 24 cores, offering strong single-core and multi-core speeds. I was thinking about the i9 14th generation, but heard it might be unstable. Any suggestions for this build would be appreciated!
With the 5080 and 5090 arriving soon, I’d delay any GPU buys. Considering our budget, I’m assuming you’re running games at 4K resolution. In this case, a 285k seems like the best balance, staying away from Threadripper upgrades.
