Hey there! I’m trying to figure out how to add mobile data support to my Acer Nitro 5. I have a free M.2 PCIe3 slot and a regular SIM card, which should give the carrier info the system needs. I’m not sure what parts I need to install for LTE or 5G functionality. Could you suggest the best hardware options for that? Thanks!

Confirm if your carrier backs LTE bands. The 5G options cost more.

To achieve this without an external device, your laptop must include a WWAN port together with the correct antennas. If it lacks this feature, you’ll need a USB adapter that transforms the m.2 WWAN/LTE card into a USB connection (such as the one mentioned). Once that’s set up, you’ll require suitable software to activate cell network access, though my expertise in this area comes to an end here.
