Hi. While attempting to eliminate sticky residues from a Satellite Pro case, I applied acetone which removed some of the matt black stain or paint. Could you suggest an alternative that lets the heat from the screen dissipate? I suspect it shouldn’t be paint, since it was so quickly stripped away.

Acetone effectively dissolves various substances, including coatings. To confirm, does the issue occur only with the screen or also with the laptop's case? On the display, it might be a protective layer that can be easily removed by peeling. This could be for protection during transport.

Hi. Thank you for your message. The part of the case that holds the screen is the exterior when the case is closed. Would using a spray on matt paint be suitable?

If it´s no foil, then the coating is gone. Like in this picture:

Remove all of it, then you can use a large sticker or foil to pimp it again
e.g.
https://www.skinit.com/collections/laptop-skins
temperature on this side is not relevant for the cpu or motherboard and it will be fine nontheless

No, it's not exactly the same—it's just the loss of colour that transferred to the material I was using. I was planning to include a photo, but I couldn't locate the option.

Yes, you may apply paint as recommended. Simply cover other sections and work carefully.

Thank you for the assistance. The spray painting project was very successful.
