I'm experiencing boot issues due to my GPU. After installing an OptiPlex upgrade with upgraded RAM and a low-profile RX 6400, I noticed occasional freezing and minor OS lag even when idle. My first thought was to reset the CMOS, thinking that would fix it. It seems there might be a problem with the PCI-E slot—possibly on the GPU or motherboard. Also, the GPU gets very hot during boot sequences. I've tried updating the BIOS, adjusting ASPM settings, disabling SATA RAID, and clearing CMOS safely, but nothing worked. I haven't reflashed the VBIOS on the card, bought a new PC, or taken any other steps. Looking for alternative solutions and appreciating your attention.

Could consider asking a friend to try the GPU to see if the problem is related to power limits or hardware damage. Appreciate your attention!

Hi 7apollo, If your GPU is having boot issues after a CMOS reset, it might mean the reset removed important settings needed for proper operation. You’ll need to adjust BIOS settings to match the previous configuration. Restart your PC and use the designated key (often Delete, F1 or F2) to enter BIOS. There, find GPU-related options and tweak them as needed. If you’re not sure which settings to change, refer to your motherboard or GPU manual. You could also reset BIOS to defaults and restart to check if that helps. Persistent problems may indicate hardware damage from the reset—then consider replacing the GPU or getting professional repair.
