Hello! It looks like your Windows version changed back to Windows 7 after you upgraded your graphics card. You switched from a Gigabyte 6850HD to a Sapphire Nitro+ rx580 8GB, but the new driver didn't restore Windows 10. This situation hasn't been encountered before. Could you share more details or ask for advice?

Have you transitioned from version 7 to 10? Are there any backup copies available?

I handled it when it was a free upgrade. Now it's reverting to the original version.

You're unsure about whether you have backups of the Windows installation.

After installing the videocard, the system doesn't automatically switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10. You likely need to adjust the boot sequence or perform a factory reset to ensure proper startup.

I never visited the bios. As soon as I powered on after installing the new graphics card, it launched into Windows 7. It looks like there’s a method that allows Windows 10 to boot into Windows 7. Everything tied to Windows 10 seems to be missing. It feels like I’ve traveled back in time. All the old desktop icons, installed programs, even Google bookmarks are gone.

It’s not feasible for Windows 10 to simply revert to the previous version after this period. All files moved during the upgrade would likely be gone—either deleted by the system months later or removed in the first major update. Few people had access to your PC before the upgrade, and the only possibility I’ve heard of is someone restoring the drive from a Windows 7 image before you changed the graphics card.

No one. Was anything left from the previous graphics card connected? I used that one even yesterday.
