Hey there! I heard you were looking into building your own PC for work and creativity. After exploring many tech channels on YouTube, you decided to go all-in a few months back. The parts you chose worked perfectly and seemed to work together seamlessly—ranging from the MSI X470 gaming pro carbon to the WD 500GB M.2 NVMe drive. Your setup included a nice Sandisk SSD, a powerful case, and everything seemed to fit together nicely.

Your friend, who has more experience, helped you create a bootable drive and install Windows. This was useful since I hadn’t used Windows in about seven years. After some testing, I realized Windows was actually installed on the SATA SSD, not the M.2 drive as I thought. After some research, I confirmed it was on the SSD.

I tried cloning and moving the drive to the M.2 slot, but the issue persisted. The system would start normally on F11, but then crash with a BSOD when trying to boot from the SSD. It’s confusing because the drive appears in UEFI but doesn’t show up in the boot menu.

I’m stuck—how do I fix this so my PC boots smoothly again? Any tips or solutions would be super helpful! Thanks for your help!

installing Windows involves using a USB drive, and you begin by booting into it. Choose the WD SSD as the installation spot. There might be a need to start fresh during the formatting process.

I've noticed where it mentions booting from the hard drive or similar, and then you can rearrange the sequence.

We placed it on the Sandisk SSD from the boot drive initially, which wasn't perfect. However, I managed to clone and migrate everything using Acronis to the M.2 slot successfully. Now it works on the M.2, though it doesn’t start up normally. I’d like to resolve this issue.
