I ran those commands and nothing came up wrong. Back then sometimes they found system problems and fixed them, but crashes kept happening even after the fixes. After yesterday's first crash, I did Cinebench and OCCT and neither crashed, but Burnintest made me restart right away. I checked Event Viewer and there were many errors from DeviceSetupManager 131 before it stopped working. It didn't mention RuntimeBroker at all. I'll try to save some screenshots soon but the logs look different every time. Windows also doesn't make a Minidump file now. I turned off fastboot just in case, even though I don't know how to use it yet.

I got that old thing back in 2017. This new one is just a month old, but both have the same power: 650 watts.

Windows Version? FYI (not a solution): https://www.partitionwizard.com/news/dev...d-131.html Read the link to learn more about Error 131. You can find other similar links easily. Just take a look at possible solutions only to get a sense of what might be needed to fix this problem. I won't use any third-party apps that say they will fix it, and I certainly won't touch the Registry. Editing the Registry is only for last resort. My main goal right now is just to figure out some symptoms or other things happening that you might not have noticed yet or think are okay because of a reason like that.

The reliability history just says the power went off without warning, which is bad luck. The Event Viewer isn't giving a lot of details either, so I pasted up some photos and an error log from dxdiag here to help. Not sure if that's enough info for you.

I'm going to run another memory test. Maybe I'll take out a stick of RAM so we can check if those crashes are still there. This is on Windows 10, version 10.0.19045 Build 19045.

If you start taking out and putting back memory sticks, check the manual for your momoboard. Make sure every stick fits what it says works. Some moms need the first one put in a special spot, usually called DIMM_A2. Read all tiny rules and pictures carefully. Fix any problems right away.

Okay I actually found out my RAM is a different type than what I thought. It looked exactly like other models I guessed fit my board, but now that I checked the site, it's not listed there. Turns out the model is F4-3200C16-8GTZR. Could this be making my computer crash? This one is old, bought in 2017. Memtest didn't find any problems but maybe something else?

The only rule is that your computer needs to support the RAM you buy. This check comes from the official specs, not what it looks like. Sometimes fake products use a fancy look to trick people who are too careful. You should buy RAM in pairs for dual channel performance. If possible, give back any wrong RAM or model that isn't listed on the motherboard's official site. Also make sure you set up your BIOS correctly before buying. It might work fine, it could fail completely, and sometimes it acts strange with constant problems. Go to the real ASUS website by typing in their address carefully. Don't trust just because "ASUS" is written somewhere in the link; check the page closely yourself.

This RAM stick is exactly what I bought years ago and I haven't changed it yet. It's the oldest part in this computer, but up until now nothing has broken or made me worry. I am wondering if an older motherboard could cause problems with a newer board, but my old one had crashes too. About the BIOS, the speed is set at 2133MHz and the button for it looks greyed out; I guess you have to turn on Overclocking to change that number? Not sure if turning it on would help. I usually prefer to leave everything just as it came out to avoid getting things wrong.
