I assembled my PC about two and a half years ago. Initially, I had 16GB (two 8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro. The system ran at 2666MHz, and I added another 16GB the other night as a gift—also Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, which boosted it to 3200MHz. I understood the speed would drop back to 2666MHz, but that was fine since it was a gift. I cleaned dust from the PC, installed the RAM, and everything seemed to function properly. However, things started to malfunction. Task Manager and BIOS both indicated I had 32GB of RAM, and it was being detected by the system. Still, I didn’t know what was going wrong. I updated Windows, refreshed my drivers, and restarted the computer multiple times—especially when joining Discord calls. Sometimes I couldn’t hear anyone unless I restarted, but other Discord sounds worked fine.

Other issues arose: Razer Synapse didn’t recognize my BlackWidow Chroma V2 or Firefly, prompting it to suggest a compatible device (this only happened after I updated Windows). Stardew Valley was lagging, often dropping to around 2 FPS. The performance wasn’t consistent but definitely bothersome.

Your specs are clear—please let me know if you need help interpreting these symptoms.

Start with the 16GB module alone. If successful, proceed with the two 8GB units without the separate module. If that works, continue with the 16GB and the other 8GB together. The RAM timing settings aren't functioning as expected.

I still have the full 16GB of RAM installed, running at 2666MHz, but I'm experiencing issues like the Razer Synapse failing to recognize my peripherals. I checked the RAM timings—original had 16-18-18-35 and the new one is 16-18-18-36. I’m not familiar with timing specs, so it’s unclear if this change would impact performance. To be sure, the original RAM is the only one present as I write this.

It seems your Razer Synapse isn't recognizing your peripherals, possibly due to an issue with the software. Everything else seems to be functioning properly after you tried this. Thanks!
