I just put in a new cooler but can't start the system anymore.
Hello everyone! I own an HP Omen 875-0129. After about two years, I swapped out the original cooler for the Noctua NH-U9S and added a 120 Noctua fan at the top of the case. The system started up but didn’t produce any output. I’ve tried several fixes: switched back to the old cooler, unplugged the new fan, reset the CMOS, removed the battery, waited, then reinstalled everything. After reapplying thermal paste (careful not to overdo it), I took both RAM sticks out and reinstalled one. It booted but still didn’t power on. I moved to dim2, booted again, got power but no output. I’ve also removed the GPU, reapplied thermal paste, and re-seated it to check connections. Sometimes I try booting and it powers up briefly before shutting down and rebooting, but never gets a proper start. I’m also wondering if removing the battery might help—maybe it’s not getting enough power. There have been cases where I power on, then shut off and attempt a reset. I’m unsure if this is related to the GPU or something else. If I try disconnecting all drives (SSD and two HDDs) and booting that way, will it work? If not, maybe reseating the CPU is necessary. I’m really worried about this machine. If you have any tips or recommendations, I’d really appreciate them. Thanks in advance!
