I've just completed my PC build and am currently stuck in a boot loop. I'm using my old hard drive, not expecting any issues. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

When you disconnect the drive and leave USB media available, will you enter BIOS or press a key to see a message? Please note that the 3xx chipset is compatible with the 8th generation CPU, which may require a BIOS update. Edit - you would need F11 according to this link:

It won't stay on for more than a couple of seconds, which is unusual since the RAM lights up and shuts off but the fans remain active. Should I install a completely new MOBO or find a way to extend its boot time enough to reach the BIOS menu?

TBH the best approach would be to look around for someone who knows an enthusiast or a small shop that might have an 8th gen CPU available for testing. There’s no straightforward solution since there isn’t a native chipset for the 9th generation. You could possibly adjust the motherboard, but at this stage it seems unlikely manufacturers would go to such lengths for older components. You might also try locating the most affordable "Pentium" or similar 8th gen models to inspect yourself.

I interpret a boot loop as a situation where the system and fans repeatedly power on and off without successfully booting, but since the fans stay active it doesn't match the usual signs. It might relate to a BIOS update issue or a problem with the video cable connection. Could be a hardware fault or incorrect setup.
