The card’s needs are more demanding than your setup. Your specs—core-i3-7020u, 2.30GHz, 4GB RAM, 1TB SSD—should work for streaming, but the toaster’s processor and memory might limit performance.

Many toasters I've seen only feature a BBM* port. To use the capture card, you'll need an HDMI port. That means streaming from your toaster isn't possible with that card. Hope this clears things up! BBM stands for Burned Bread Medium.

That's incorrect, I do have an HDMI port available.

This appears to be a genuine inquiry. The term "toaster" might be a mistranslation or unfamiliar word in another language. Please confirm if you meant something else.

Toaster refers to a slow computer. You probably weren't joking.

I was joking around, thinking it was a troll comment. It’s a slang term I’ve never seen before, and I don’t think anyone else was chatting with me at the time. Sorry, OP… I’m just about to waste an hour thinking about it.

The only sure way to understand its capabilities is by testing it yourself. However, I believe if you're mainly watching on consoles, you probably won't need more than 720p at 30 frames per second if you want to experiment with encoding options.

Toaster is often used to refer to an old, slow computer. Potato is something you typically hear about, and microwave is another term I’ve encountered.

After reviewing the product page, I suggest checking it out yourself. The mention of "Systems requirements for dedicated streaming PC" indicates it's meant for a specific setup. Your goal of using this capture card as an encoder isn't directly relevant here. If you intend to play games on it, laptop hardware may pose more challenges. Updated January 7, 2021 by LogicalDrm
