I just increased my Verizon speed from 150 Mbps to 400 Mbps. Everything else is fine except my Zmodo camera setup. It’s a POE system with a DVR, and it’s hardwired to my router. I’ve noticed signal loss from the cameras after the upgrade. Removing the network cable brings them back online and working perfectly. Anyone have suggestions?

Login to your DVR and check the error reporting. Is the DVR or any of the cameras actually losing power or is the whole system just freezing up? Need more info to help you. Increasing bandwidth from your ISP wouldn't be causing that. If they reset your modem and that's handling DHCP and port forwarding that could be the source of the issue. Check the port forwarding on your router to ensure the ports are still open for your DVR.

My DVR is three years old and hasn't shown any error reports I can locate. It seems like a typical homeowner setup. I've checked my router, but you mentioned it was provided. Verizon stops at their fiber connection. Everything else runs through me. The cameras aren't losing power because the IR lights are still working—meaning they just freeze in place. Removing the network cable brings them back to life. It's odd, since there shouldn't be any network issues affecting them.

Verify your router settings for port forwarding. Does your DVR use a fixed local IP address or is it fully automated? Your router should display the DVR’s IP if you’re uncertain. Access your DVR’s interface and review any messages for discrepancies. Occasionally, a basic adjustment like swapping Ethernet cables can resolve the issue.

It turned out my DVR's IP address was wrong—my advanced scanner showed 118, but the router listed it as 110. I switched the camera IPs and made them static on the router.
