Very similar to the original, but featuring flying units and fewer civilizations. Offers a detailed expansion that adds the Confederacy and the Republic, with Jedi enhanced by Force invisibility abilities that dismantle enemies using lightsabers and mix high-end and low-cost infantry like clones. The game has strong mod support; you can find updates at http://swgb.heavengames.com/. If you enjoy area-of-effect combat, this will appeal to Star Wars fans. It’s worth checking out if you’re interested in mods and strategy. Disney reportedly has been offering it at discounted prices after purchasing LucasArts.
Sins of a Solar Empire was truly outstanding. I spent countless hours playing it. Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 would rank as my top achievement.
That is so much my thing it's unreal - I've got to get my hands on this!! Thank you so much mate, this is a killer recommendation
I've also put in a lot of time—over 300 hours—playing that game. The Stargate: Invasion total mod was my favorite, using in-game features creatively. It feels great to send a City Ship on scouting missions and then bring in a massive fleet straight from across the galaxy with its built-in Stargate. Do you have any good mod suggestions for it?
I've always found the topic dull and didn't realize there was a mod community for it until this discussion.
