I haven't made any purchases during the GoG summer sale.
You've purchased three games, all of which are great. I'm curious about the one free game (Rebel Galaxy) since you bought SiN Gold and Rune Classic. I'd like to add Arena and Daggerfall to my collection. It seems those titles aren't listed on GoG when I search for them, but they're available for free on Bethesda's site—probably where you obtained them. I haven't played DA3 yet, but I believe it's one of the best RPGs ever developed, and it doesn't appear that way to me. It offers a different gameplay style. Here are some mods I use in DA:O to enhance its visual quality: Dragon Age Redesigned Improved Atmosphere JB3 textures for various world props, Theta HD Textures, Elelith textures. Other helpful mods include Lock Bash and DAOSaves. Make sure all DLC content is enabled after launching the game, as there can be issues with it syncing properly with the Steam version. Hopefully, GoG's installer sets everything up correctly right after installation.
You receive Arena and Daggerfall at no cost when purchasing Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein 3D, Ultimate Doom or Doom II. Additional titles might also be included, but these four are certain examples.
Do the mods closely match the original experience? I usually avoid large mods for Fallout 3, 4, or Witcher 3. In the past, nighttime felt completely dark, the ship looked extremely worn, and the graphics were altered quite a bit. Major visual changes made the game feel more vibrant rather than realistic. For Fallout 4, big graphics updates turned everything green and overgrown instead of the usual desolate look. The mods I’ve seen that people praise are mainly for lighting in Witcher 3. TWC3 features a unique lighting style with an almost orange sunset sky for much of the day, making it seem like the game is always around noon. That’s why I’m cautious about graphics mods and tend to stick with ones that improve stability, especially outside of the old isometric versions. Thanks for letting me know about activating the DLC!
These graphics enhancements closely match the original design goals. Below are some illustrations: Dragon Age Reimagined - http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/686/? Theta HD - http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3869/? Retexturing DAO - http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3973/? Also, it's possible some texture changes overlap between these mods. I'm uncertain at the moment; it's conceivable I overlooked using JB3 textures for certain items, as they might already be handled well in other mods. By the way, a memory issue leads to crashes in Denerim, so it's advisable to save frequently there. To avoid getting trapped in a reload-related crash cycle in Denerim, create a save file at the city's entrance that you can always reload from, and use quicksave while exploring. After finishing tasks in the city, exit and save again, then return to the city to continue your quest. Doing a lot in the city and then saving can cause crashes, and repeatedly reloading saves often leads to a loop. Another mod worth considering is Better Sex Cutscenes.
Purchased: Wing Commander: Privateer Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection Two (features Hillsfar, Pool of Radiance, Secret of the Silver Blades, Treasures of the Savage Frontier, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Pools of Darkness, Gateway to the Savage Frontier and Forgotten Realm - Unlimited Adventures) Lure of the Temptress (free) Ultima Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams (free). Also received Alan Wake's American Nightmare for free since I've exceeded a total of 10€ during the summer sale.
Chose several classic titles I enjoyed as a child to relive my nostalgia: Leisure Suit Larry 1,2,3,5 and 6, Softporn Adventure, Quest for Glory 1-5, The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Special Editions, Day of the Tentacle Remastered.
