I have overclocking questions
I have overclocking questions
From XMP's perspective, it seems the switch will enable the motherboard to support XMP. For the BIOS, I would activate advanced mode, then navigate to Ai Tweaker > Ai Overclock Tuner, where the XMP option should be available. It's unclear how the switch interacts with that process.
I don't have an XMP option
Only auto and manual settings are available. I own the hyperX fury 1866 memory. The speeds are functioning on the main BIOS page, but I can't find the XMP setting.
What rate the BIOS indicates the RAM is running? Have you attempted to adjust the XMP setting? It might not show unless the toggle is activated. Your motherboard lacks this feature (Maximus VI Hero).
The summary on the EZ Page of the BIOS displays the RAM speed at 1866. It indicates XMP Disabled and doesn’t allow enabling it from that page. There are also a few questions I have. I notice these options: Bear with me. ASUS Multicore Enhancement, Auto- Asus optimized core ratio settings will be applied during overclocking. Disabled – apply default core ratio settings. If I switch the AI Overclock Tweaker to Manual, what adjustments should I make? I know the DRAM is set to 1866, but I also see other options like... BCLK Frequency, RAM Frequency Ratio (100:133 or 100:00), DRAM CTRL Voltage, and DRAM Data REF Voltage Channel A/B. Then there’s CPU Spread Spectrum, with options to Disable-enchance BCLK Overclock Ability, Enable-REduce the EUI (Electromagnetic Disturbance generated by my BCLK), and I’m not sure what to do with the EUI setting. Also, are there other choices available? In short, I can figure out the Core Ratio/Voltage and might try flipping the switch. Should I adjust any other settings as listed? Thanks.
If the BIOS shows 1866 as the RAM speed, that's the current setting and you shouldn't adjust it unless you're attempting an overclock. You don't have to modify anything for XMP since it's already at the maximum.
