I have experience with the i5 7400 and CS:GO.
Hi, I'm looking for advice from others who have an i5 7400 about FPS in CS:GO. I noticed online players often report higher numbers than what I see locally. My experience is around 180-200 FPS, but sometimes it drops to 100-90 FPS, which is frustrating on a 144Hz screen.
200 plus with frame rate drops doesn't seem out of place for the 7400. We need to clarify a few things: 1) All your PC details, GPU, storage, etc., as much info as possible. 2) Are there other programs running in the background like web browsers, music players, streaming apps, antivirus, or Windows updates? 3) Do you own a GPU and monitor that supports G-sync or Freesync? 4) Is V-sync enabled or disabled? For competitive play, most users prefer V-sync off. The GPU should be capable of 100+ FPS with proper settings.
1) ASUS GTX 1070 featuring GPU Western digital green SSD storage paired with CS ASUS PRIME B250M-K, MOBO single slot, 8GB RAM by Crucial
2) Teamspeak only
3) Monitor model Benq xl2411z lacks g sync or free sync
4) vSync off in settings, all except multicore rendering and low enabled
It might be related to the limited 8GB of memory available in a single channel.
It seems you're pointing out the description needs adjustment. Consider executing the userbenchmark test and share your findings. What are your performance metrics? There might be power-saving features active that affect speed. Edited April 18, 2018 by chckovsky
I removed the power from my CPU yet I'm still using the cooling pad that came with it.
They recommended checking your BIOS settings on another tech support forum. What are your thoughts?
