I have a brand new laptop that feels very sluggish.
My brand new laptop is acting really slow! I bought an ASUS Vivobook 14 back two months ago with a processor made by Intel and 16 gigabytes of memory. I put Windows 11 Pro on it, but it feels like things are always dragging around. When I look at the Task Manager, my CPU and memory usage keep hitting 80% or higher. Even easy tasks like opening Chrome with Facebook, Spotify, and CNN News seem to make the system usage spike up to 97%, and just using Chrome alone takes up 33% of everything. This does not feel normal for a brand new computer, so I'm scared something might be broken inside my machine. Is this slow performance actually common? Can you tell me some ways to fix my computer's speed issues? I've attached some pictures from my Task Manager showing how much my system is using recently. At the links below you can see screenshots of the programs I am running https://1drv.ms/i/s!As4HcS8wNn2klfFSDbHW...Q?e=pX275u https://1drv.ms/i/s!As4HcS8wNn2klfFSDbHW...Q?e=M4fGlv https://1drv.ms/i/s!As4HcS8wNn2klfFPEGtO...A?e=NONjzQ https://1drv.ms/i/s!As4HcS8wNn2klfFQRh66...Q?e=xsYfgb https://1drv.ms/i/s!As4HcS8wNn2klfFRG7nY...g?e=oyzioD Thank you so much for your help!
Hey there! You just got a fresh copy of Windows 11 Pro set up, right? But now it seems really slow and laggy. Did you download that installer from somewhere else? Maybe check if your little computer needs a quick update to the BIOS so things work better.
I bought Windows 11 at a good store, and they put it on my computer too. They even sent me a disc with my key info. Have you looked at those links? Is this really using so much battery?
How many antivirus programs have you gotten installed? Zone alarm, Checkpoint, what else? You need just one or they will fight over your computer. Check the system temperatures. Use Coretemp. Core Temp is a simple, no nonsense program that checks how hot your processor gets and gives other important info. Visit www.alcpu.com
