I feel quite frustrated with this situation.
I'm one of those who's been pushed to use Windows 10... But I keep it as secure as I can, I rely on software to block all tracking, I don't use any accounts and I've never downloaded anything from the Microsoft Store... and I won't again. Recently I had to send some documents, so I scanned them in only to realize I'd never actually installed the scanner for my AIO printer. I tried installing it, but it just says no unless I have an MS account. That's fine with me. I'll head straight to Epson's site and grab it there. They thought it was a great idea to restrict downloads to their own software, which makes sense since I'm not creating an account ever. It's time to switch to another printer and remember to keep Epson off my list. But seriously... stop with Epson and stop using Microsoft.
It looks like you're trying to recall past experiences with Cinebench R20. You mentioned it was available only through M$ Store, but you also recall that installing the files manually could have worked without using the store.
Launch the start menu, enter "Windows fax and scan," press Enter. (⌐■_■)
Consider saving it on another machine... or utilize the drive the scanner provided... or capture a photo of the file with your phone. These are ideas from someone who dislikes Windows 10.
Well f*ck me sideways with a barge pole... Thank you. I can at least initiate the scan from my desktop, I just can't do it from the printer to send the file to my system. But I can live with that, and I don;t have to do any work arounds... You sir (or madam) are a scholar and a gent (or lady)
