the problem is... even if your hard-drive would be "alright" there's most likely corruption on the drive plus its not clear how long it would last anyway. hence you should take the hard drive out - keep it as a backup for the personal files etc that are already on it, buy a new drive and use that to install windows on. Do *not* connect your old drive to system until you verified the new drive and install fixed the issue. otherwise ease-us and macrium reflect are good cloning softwares, i always use macrium.
I have a lot of storage space. I’ve got more than 40TB available. I’m planning to reorganize things and transfer them to my 1TB M2 drive.
