Recently, interest has focused on vintage consoles such as the NES/SNES, Genesis, and Commodore 64. I haven’t owned any of these, which makes me curious since few people discuss old PC titles, DOS games, or Commodore 64 experiences. I’d like to begin a conversation about the memorable games from my youth. I remember having quite a few favorites, but one of them was Stunts, a precursor to TrackMania. I considered it the top racing game ever made. There were also classics like Commander Keen (I really loved that one :3), Duke Nukem 1-2 and later 3D, Prince of Persia, and even Titus—a game that few seem to have played but is quite enjoyable. The PC version of Mario was another favorite, despite having a Mario port. There was also Ninja Rabbit, which I almost completely forgot about—it was one of the more unusual titles. It seems PC games always stood out as the best. Games such as Golden Axe and Prince of Persia, available on Genesis or SNES, were still top picks for PC. It’s strange how that turned out. P.S. Has anyone else played this game?

Raptor: Several titles come to mind, like Call of the Shadows, Jazz Jackrabbit, Wolfenstein 3D, Bio Menace, and Commander Keen.

MicroLeague Baseball is an incredibly engaging baseball management simulation. I dedicated numerous hours to playing the game and even created my own score tracking and league statistics. It's a really enjoyable experience. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroLeague_Baseball (the video shown works on C64 but also ran on DOS-PC)

I wasn't really into Wolfenstein 3D, it felt a bit dull. When I started gaming, there were other 3D titles like Blake Stone that caught my attention. I did enjoy that one, though. I didn't play Jazz Jackrabbit directly, but I loved it. I believe that was Windows too. YES! I used to play this game a lot! During primary school computer classes, it was installed everywhere and we played it constantly. I'm about to try it now. It's really good—truly one of the best.

My favorite was Golden Axe and one game I can't recall the name for, it was very fun and I could sit there for hours on end.

Digger Alley Cat Flight Simulator seems to be a mix of games—possibly MS's work with combat simulations, Tetris in 3D, Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom descent elements.

I found some useful tools online. If you're missing this software, you can get it right away. There are also games like Warcraft, Orcs & Humans D&D Eye of the Beholder, Wing Commander Privateer Quest for Glory, and other titles such as Doom, Star Wars: Dark Force, X-wing vs Tie Fighter, Lords of the Realm, and Might & Magic.

Give D-Fend Reloaded a shot. It functions as a UI for DOSbox with numerous customization options and straightforward game launching. Think of it as Steam for DOS titles—no downloads required, just add the games (similar to how you add non-steam titles). http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/
