I own a complete Unifi setup at home, including a UDR, 16-port PoE switch, and U6-Lite AP. I'm planning to switch to a new fiber internet provider once their network is fully expanded. I value having full control over my network, even if it doesn't always benefit me. I recently met someone on FB Marketplace selling an USG-4-Pro, but I advised them against it and managed to get it for a reasonable price. Having the SFP ports would let me connect the fiber lines directly instead of relying solely on the ISP modem. Later that day, I connected with him in another city, brought it home, and started using it. However, Unifi informed me I already have a gateway and can't have two devices on the same system. Since my UDR serves as the gateway, I'm limited to one device per system. This means I'm stuck with equipment that won't work well without downgrading. Lesson learned: always do your research before purchasing gear! Also, anyone else looking for a Unifi USG-Pro-4?

Sure, you can set the USG Pro as your main router or gateway while using the UDR solely as an access point.

I don't think that's right, but I'll keep researching to find a solution. Maybe I can share this with a friend from the USG.
