I've been using Adobe Acrobat XI for my PDFs, but it tends to slow down during simple tasks like scrolling. I'm looking for lighter, faster readers that still offer decent features. Foxit Reader and Sumatra seem promising, though Sumatra lacks strong functionality. OCR support would be helpful but isn't essential. A free option with good performance would be ideal. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

It seems unusual... I believe my adaptation is from a more recent version, possibly Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

Unclear why some prefer distinct tools for this task, but whatever it is

Adobe Reader X is available for free and performs adequately for reading PDF files without needing alternative programs.

I'm using the latest Acrobat DC version. I don't like the current Metro style—it looks too white. It also doesn't save my sidebar settings. Good OCR is a paid service; you can try free options, but they have restrictions and errors.
