Virus-free since 1995. The briefest infection happened when I had to insert a 3.5" floppy in a lab machine at college. It was the dedicated virus scanning system (we all needed to scan disks before using a lab computer) and someone accidentally infected it with the Michaelangelo virus, which spread to everyone who scanned their disks. My take is that anti-virus tools catch infections after they occur, not before. That’s why staying cautious about what you click and where your software comes from matters most. When I clean other people's systems I rely on: MalwareBytes, Hijackthis, Autoruns, Process Explorer.
