Have been using Avast for a long time, but now I'm not protected and I'm doing fine without it.

It seems I'm planning to switch from AVG to a new antivirus solution today after setting up the system. I'm considering skipping antivirus altogether, but I'll finalize my decision once I arrive.

I own an upgraded membership to "Common Sense 2015" (also known as Windows Defender) and avoid illegal downloads.

I used Malwarebytes, Windows security tools, and my own antivirus called common.sense.fools. I tried the AV software but it mistakenly identified itself as a virus and deleted itself. It would have been better if the laptop had lasted a few more days. After detecting the MS preinstalled games (solitaire, minesweeper) as malware, it attempted to remove them.

Keep your devices safe with essential security measures every few days, and stay protected even when your computer feels under pressure.
