I believe your keyboard layout is quite tight, forcing you to tighten your grip. A separate gaming keyboard would offer more comfort and let you customize your setup better. I’ve switched to a gaming keypad like the Razer Nostromo for that extra ease, positioning both the keyboard and mouse in a way that reduces strain. You’ll need to adjust your input mappings because the layouts differ slightly. Usually I avoid reaching with my thumb—just let go of WASD and position it correctly to prevent fatigue. Since you’re likely not doing this often, reaching with your thumb isn’t necessary, but it’s still possible if you prefer.

Wont lie, I thought it was someone's hand you amputated. But yes, there is no wrong or right way to use the keyboard when gaming. I am more like your final picture, with my hand slightly tilted to the left. Whatever is comfortable for you.

It would definitely work! However, that particular mouse isn't top-notch, but it should suffice. I wouldn't purchase a gaming mouse unless it malfunctioned or began having issues. Let's move on to the keyboard—give it a try by remapping keys for better comfort and see what happens.

You're looking for a way to remap in Bioshock but can't locate the option. Try checking the game's settings menu or the in-game help section—sometimes remapping is hidden there. If not, consider using community guides or forums for alternative methods.

I began playing PC games in February this year, and I noticed the same feeling you did. After a couple of weeks, using the mouse and keyboard became much easier. I could reach all the buttons without pain, unlike before when positioning them was uncomfortable.

You'll be amazed at how I operate my keyboard. The main goal of PC gaming is to tailor the experience to your comfort. If I were you, I'd choose a keyboard since those laptop keys seem fragile.

Navigate to the main menu, select options, move to keyboard/mouse settings, and then assign everything to one or a couple of keys (primary and alternate available; you can bind them as needed).
