I own identical equipment—130", 1080p, 60fps projector for home cinema in 5.1 surround—but now it’s placed on a bed instead of a desktop. I also have a desktop in the same room with a 24" monitor for everyday viewing.

One of my former colleagues was playing BF2 using a projector. Those were the days when 4:3 resolution was standard. You'll likely find a decent projector for a reasonable price. It won't be a problem. Adapting to a larger screen will take some getting used to.
