I created my setup in 2020 and want to improve the GPU from an RTX 2070 Super. My CPU is a Ryzen 9 3900X. Any suggestions? I'm aiming for a budget under 600 dollars.

Based on the choice, you might opt for a 9060xt 16gb or 5060ti 16gb, keeping the budget around a couple hundred. Then consider adding a 5700x3d as an upgrade if your board allows it. These options are similar to a 6800xt in raw performance, which is impressive given their cost, though upscaling and frame generation would still be better.

The main problem with the 5060ti is that using a b450 board with PCIE GEN 3 restricts you to an x8 interface. B550 and PCIE 4 are fine. 9060xt has no issues. I completely support a 5700x3d if possible for better performance and system balance. The power supply and RAM speed details still need clarification.

However, given that the RTX 50 series Super refresh is expected in the fourth quarter of this year, I might delay the upgrade to monitor any price changes on the 5070 and 5070 Super models with 18GB VRAM. Alternatively, you could say it probably won’t drop more than $50 on the 5070, and it would likely cost around $650 for the Super version.

Additionally, as the prices of 5700X3D continue to rise due to limited supply, it seems sensible to postpone an upgrade on an AM4 motherboard. Instead, consider saving or setting aside funds for a future upgrade to an AM5 platform with a Ryzen 7 7700x or 9700x. I’d still aim for something powerful like the RX 9070, offering a performance boost more than double that of the RTX 2070—about 2.25 to 2.5 times better.
