I placed my 5900x inside its plastic casing roughly a meter away from concrete. It was functioning before, now it doesn’t power on at all. No pins appear damaged. It also fails to boot on my friend’s motherboard. Should I attempt a repair or should I consider disposing of it?

It seems the device isn't powering up. Are any lights or fans visible? It looks like the graphics card likely has an issue—maybe it got damaged during assembly.

When every pin is straight and intact, there aren't many options left. You could attempt the oven trick—like using a toaster oven for cheap or baking at 400°F for 5-10 minutes—but it’s temporary and may cause further harm. If other methods fail, consider using an old toaster oven you were planning to discard, though you might end up needing a replacement CPU.

It adjusts the layout in spots with broken solder. As @Moonzy mentioned, if you manage to return it, it's worth a shot. The company can only send it back if necessary.

In reality, you're heating the bare die to about 110c-120c for five minutes. The goal is to apply a heat shock, helping the microbumps on the chip make better contact with the substrate. This isn't about melting solder; if the heatshock works, it can gradually achieve this over repeated cycles. However, this approach is not advisable.

The only issue is that I'm a complete fool. I discarded the original packaging, so now everything is packed inside.

It doesn’t seem like AMD needs the packaging to be returned for exchange, you can always check by asking. The plastic casing is sufficient on its own.
