I have an i5 7400 and in COD Warzone I expect around 80-90 fps with all max settings. According to the video I linked, I should see that performance. However, when I run at max settings, it drops to about 70 fps and then frequently falls to 40. I upgraded my GPU to 1660 to avoid a strong CPU bottleneck, but it seems I'm still experiencing issues. My CPU appears to be limiting the GPU performance more than expected. Any suggestions?

There are numerous other videos that display the same frame rates, though not all may be genuine.

I think your CPU is limiting your performance in CoD since the game requires many cores. You might want to search for more details if you're interested.

I understood that my number of cores would limit my performance, but I didn't realize how significant that would be. Based on those videos, I thought the bottleneck wouldn't be too severe since it still allowed around 70fps. However, it seems like it's actually restricting me more than expected. Is there a reason for this?

If you're running at 1080p with that card, it's holding you back a bit but not too much. The main issue is that it isn't OCable. Anything above 1060 or 2060 is wasting money on your system. The 1660Ti seems like a better choice since it doesn’t require OC and I think the chip is quad-core. This could really drop your FPS significantly. It’s likely running around 4Ghz or faster. 🤷‍♀️✝😲💯

The results I'm seeing don't match what I expected for an i5 7400. It often drops to 40fps because of my CPU, even though it should stay above 70 based on the benchmark videos I shared. I'm looking for a reason behind this issue.

Are there additional applications currently active? Reducing the number of running programs can improve performance.
