I think eight threads aren't enough, and even some recent games lag with that CPU. I don't understand why your Ryzen acted that way, but mine doesn't. Why didn't you return the CPU? You ended up with a worse one instead.

intel didn’t make sense for you—using a 3600 on an x570 would have required a 4000 chip, which would have caused your 9900k to overheat. You might have misunderstood the cooler mount, so you downgraded.

I want to highlight that the architecture isn<|pad|>, not what improves emulation this time. It's really about the clocks. Ryzen actually delivers a slight edge in operations per clock compared to Intel.

it doesn<|pad|> a small difference exists between a 4.3ghz amd chip and a 5.0ghz+ intel chip on a single core. zen 3/4000 aims for better performance per clock, while intel hasn’t released a 0 Ryzen 4000 yet. my idea was you could invest in a good board and a 3600x to get a faster chip than a 9900k for much less.

It's around 7% with some variation. A jump from 4.3ghz to 5ghz represents a 16% boost. AMD remains roughly 10% lagging in many tasks.

You could adjust the fan settings by creating a fan profile, and many boards also raise the voltage on Ryzen 3000 chips, leading to temperature spikes. I get why some people favor Intel since it allows easy overclocking and plug-and-play setup.

I own chips from nearly every Intel generation, from 2600k to 7600k, and those gains were present. The issue was that games didn’t always benefit from the biggest parts of them. Ryzen represented a major leap for AMD since BD/FX were really lacking when they first launched and hadn’t received updates for about a decade.
