I’m having trouble with my voice chat – I can’t hear anyone, and they can’t hear me. This has happened in Hunt: Showdown, Rainbow Six Siege, and Overwatch, so it's not a game-specific issue. I see the voice chat icon appear, but there’s no sound.

I’ve already tried everything obvious – reinstalling the games and Steam, setting my headphones as the default device, disabling other devices, updating drivers, and changing the DNS settings. I even completely uninstalled and reconnected my microphone, including uninstalling and leaving it disconnected entirely.

I use a USB webcam/mic combo, and Discord detects the camera fine, but not the microphone. I’ve read this can be an issue with USB mics, but the solutions haven't worked. It’s incredibly frustrating! Please help me – you guys are my only hope.

Have you checked your privacy settings and ensured ‘Allow apps to use microphone’ is enabled? That solved my issue.

No problem, I was also pulling my hair out when I was having this problem and was releived but also frustrated that it was such an obvious fix.
