You can still monitor the skin’s status by checking the CS GO Exchange listings. After you registered, you should be able to view who currently holds it there. If you need more details, you can search for the skin name directly on the exchange platform.

I understand if I don’t have the precise number, but the person with it would need to re-register it on the exchange. I was wondering if there’s another option available.

It’s likely they’d raise privacy issues if such a feature existed. The safest approach is to contact the person you traded with and find out who they dealt with, continuing that process if needed.
