It's okay to be a bit naive about letting the motherboard handle things. I've noticed some automatic timing choices it makes. As long as it stays stable, you're good to go for fun and games.
No doubt I went thru hours of changing sub timmings yesterday the wierd one I notice is TRDWR is auto to 9 and TWRRD is auto 2.. yet I cant run both low at same time.. but I can switch the two with eachother and it works fine
It's a bit different from running Intel. I often mix up the setups. 8700K with 4000mhz CL16 and Trfc at 450 will be tighter for benchmarks at 14kHz. AMD models are a bit more flexible, but they still function. The clock speeds are solid between 3600-16-16-16-16 timings. Performance is quite good.
