I can't access your friends' lobbies directly.
Hey everyone, a few of us live nearby and just got a new fiber connection. But now we can't connect with each other's lobbies anymore. The games we're talking about are P2P titles like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. For some reason, as soon as we joined this new internet, we couldn't even connect to each other. I tried calling the ISP's tech support but they didn't know what to do. Also, I wasn't sure where to post this issue in the forums. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
Before switching to the new internet, we didn’t have to go through any of those steps and we were able to join easily.
Certainly! I can explain the differences in more detail. The 'new internet' refers to modern advancements like cloud computing, mobile connectivity, and high-speed broadband that offer greater accessibility and speed compared to traditional setups. My previous internet was likely slower, less reliable, and limited to local connections.
Consider a VPN similar to Hamachi or a standard option like NordVPN or Private Internet Access. Hamachi was a unique service, allowing groups to connect seamlessly as if they shared the same local network.
After three hours of assistance, they need a static IP for P2P games. Otherwise, they won’t let us join unless we pay for it.
