I made a Steam account just a year ago only to check game prices and offers. I didn't own a gaming PC during that time—I never played any games, not even CS:GO. Recently, I upgraded the same PC with a GPU after installing Windows. I wanted to install Steam, so I opened my browser and searched for it. I clicked the first link, which was steampowered.com. It loaded, but after half an hour it was still slow. When I used mobile data or a VPN, the site became accessible much faster. Please help me.

You mentioned not being able to download the installer? Are you referring to this specific page or the entire site? The installer should still download all files during installation.

I'm having trouble opening the Steam store page... it seems like it's loading but not fully accessible. If I didn't open the Steam page, would I still be able to download Steam?

There are other options available for downloads. For example, Filehippo (reputed for hosting CCleaner) offers a download page. If you connect through a VPN, it might help bypass local restrictions. I could also attempt to send the installer via Discord if you can't get it from the FileHippo mirror.

I've already downloaded the Steam installer through a VPN, but after installation it seems to attempt an update that doesn't work.

Thats what I was asking earlier. Anyway, there's nothing we can really help you with. It might be your ISP issue with Steam, your IP being blocked from accessing Steam (usually because its been previously used in DDoS attack etc.) or something like that. You could try to contact Steam support about it.

It concerns IP being utilized by another party before. Not your responsibility.
