I recently installed an ASUS TUF GAMING B650-E WIFI motherboard that claims WiFi 6E support. However, in my Windows settings, I see "WiFi 4 On." When checking the WiFi driver properties under Network Adapters, the Advanced tab shows a 2.4GHz channel bandwidth with Auto as the value. I attempted to switch to 5GHz or 6GHz, but it reverts to 2.4GHz. Everything seems normal on my gateway where it works quickly. I also tried splitting my internet into three bands—2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz—but that didn’t resolve the issue. I downloaded the latest driver and performed a BIOS update. I’m unsure what else I can try. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which router or access point do you need to connect to? Ensure both devices support identical features.

I'm experiencing slow performance when connecting a desktop via an Xfinity Advanced Gateway (XB8-T). I've tried 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz networks without any error messages. The router is configured with WPA3 security. Could you suggest possible reasons for this issue?

Check your connection speed. 6Ghz works best when you're in the same room as the router since it doesn't pass through walls effectively.

I verified my link rate at 2402 Mbps, indicating a solid connection to the router. Yet, my real-speed performance remains low. Might this be due to an ISP problem, network congestion, or an incorrect router configuration?

I'm not familiar with the XB8-T, but some smart routers restrict speedtest data to prioritize gaming or voice calls. I don't know what "smart" settings the router uses or how it handles your traffic.

You're wondering about the QoS settings on your XB8-T and whether they're impacting your internet speed. You can check or turn off smart traffic management features by accessing the device's settings menu, looking for network optimization options, or consulting the user manual for specific instructions.

I don't.
There are some updates you should check, like using the Xfiniti app instead of the standard speedtest.

Got it, I'll proceed with the attempt. I'm happy to explore further, but thank you for the encouragement.

If you need more details, consider beginning a fresh discussion on XBB-T.
