Recently I returned to my PC after almost four years of inactivity and ordered a GTX 1080 Ti. However, I’m not satisfied with my CPU and wish to overclock it to at least 4.0 GHz. Here are my details:

I7 3770K @3.5GHz stock
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LK
Also I'm using Hyper-212 Evo Turbo if that matters

My concern is whether it’s safe to overclock a CPU after so many years at stock speed, especially since I haven’t overclocked yet. I ran some stress tests with Prime95 and reached 50°C up to 60°C. I’m worried because I’m completely new to OCing and watching videos while trying my luck.

Also, I’d appreciate a complete guide for the P8Z77 v-LK since there aren’t many available.

Thank you in advance.

I successfully reached 4.5ghz at 1.2v, but the 70c stress test result needs evaluation—should I consider adjusting the voltage?
