Hey everyone, I'm looking for a laptop. I already have a gaming desktop that I use for work, but since I'll be away from home for some time, I need something portable for tasks instead of gaming. People keep suggesting an Apple model to make me think playing would be harder than using something like an Asus ROG. But I'm not sure if it's really the best choice, and I'd appreciate your advice!

I enjoy them. I use both Windows and Mac systems. My main choice is a Mac laptop and a Windows desktop. The Macbook Air provides impressive battery endurance, a stunning display, and operates quietly. If I were considering Windows laptops, I’d lean toward Lenovo—specifically their slim and lightweight models with excellent battery performance. Probably a Thinkpad, given its quality construction and outstanding keyboards. It’s one of the higher-end Thinkpads, not the budget E-series. I’m not familiar with any laptop that matches its thinness and lightness. It offers comparable battery life, high resolution, and brightness compared to other similar devices. Most others in this category have limited display options, often stuck at 1920x1080 and less vibrant. At least for the price.

The M1 MacBook air is essentially the top choice for those who don’t need much effort. It includes Keynote and Pages at no cost, replacing Word and PowerPoint, while Safari stands out as an excellent browser.

Unless you're running Windows-only programs, the M1 MacBook Air works well. I'd prepare for the future by adding 16GB of memory. Internal storage is fine if it's at least 256GB.
